In Rostov Region dismissed Deputy Chief of the city Traffic Police Department suspected of bribe taking in on especially large amount

As part of the investigation relating to Alexander Otsimik, previously dismissed Deputy Chief of the city Traffic Police Department of the Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior for the Rostov Region, accused in organizing an assault on Sergey Morgachev, Chief of the city Traffic Police Department of the Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior for the Rostov Region (part 3 of article 33, paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 111 of the RF Criminal Code), the Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Southern Federal District has revealed another very serious act of corruption.

According to investigators, in the period between late summer and early fall 2013 in the city of Rostov-on-Don Otsimik, Acting Chief of the city Traffic Police Department of the Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior for the Rostov Region accepted a particularly large bribe from entrepreneur businessman in several steps represented as forgiving Otsimik’s debt totaling about 2 million rubles and 450 thousand rubles in cash. In return the police officer ordered his subordinates to issue three prestigious license plates for the briber’s vehicles.

A new criminal case was launched into this crime under part 6 of the article 290 of the RF Criminal Code (taking a cash bribe or in a form of illegal material services rendered for illegal actions in favor of the briber on a very large scale). The criminal case is joined with the main one to form a single proceeding. The investigation is ongoing.
