In Tyumen Region pre-investigative check launched in death of woman aboard plane

On 13 October 2014, at around 6:30 PM local time, an A-321 airbus travelling Kiev – Moscow - Barnaul made an emergency landing at Roshchino airport in Tyumen, because a woman born in 1951 had died aboard the plane. The investigating bodies of the Ural Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a pre-investigative check into the incident.

The initial investigation has showed that on 13 October 2014, aboard the airbus the woman felt ill and blacked out. The crew reported the situation to terrain services at Roshchino airport of Tyumen and provided necessary resuscitation. After the plane had landed, the emergency team stated that the woman was dead.

An investigating team examined the scene, identified and questioned eye-witnesses, including the woman’s relatives, who were traveling with her to Barnaul. The woman’s body was sent to a morgue for forensic medical examination. The examination shows that the cause of death was a coronary disease, acute coronary insufficiency.

A procedural decision will be made following the check.
