Another suspect detained in Mineralnye Vody hospital mass brawl case

The Stavropol Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee during the investigation in mass brawl at a hospital in the town of Mineralnye Vody as a crime under part 2 of article 213 of the RF Penal Code (hooliganism) and paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 111 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm) are taking measures to find out the circumstances of the crime, identify all the persons involved in the conflict and role of each of them in it.

According to investigators in the evening of 20 September 2014, several men got drunk and fought in Yevgenia café in the town of Mineralnye Vody. During the fight two suspects Andranik Tsakanyan and Yevgeny Smirnov hit one of the men on his head with a bottle by turn. The injured young man Roman Savechenko and his friends Anatoly Larionov and Ruslan Abdulzhalilov went to a hospital for help. Sometime later Tsakanyan also headed for the hospital and broke into it with a group of about 30 people. In the corridor they brutally beat Anatoly Larionov and injured Ruslan Abdulzhalilov and a nurse Nina Stanka.

Following the orders of investigators operatives of the Stavropol Territory Main Office of the Russian Ministry of Interior have held and delivered for initial investigation another defendant Pavel Agababyan, 21. He took an active part in beating Anatoly Larionov, who later died. Agababyan was charged with crimes under paragraphs “g” and “i” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder) and part 2 of article 213 (hooliganism) and filed a request to place him in custody pending trial.

This way, as of today, out of 33 people involved in crimes committed in the café and at hospital in Mineralnye Vody 27 are in detention. 6 more suspects are wanted. Measures are being taken to detain and deliver them for initial investigation.

The investigators are taking all possible measures to bring to justice all the people involved in that conspicuous and brutal crime. The investigation is ongoing.
