Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin holds briefing in Saint-Petersburg

Today Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has held a briefing in the city of Saint-Petersburg attended by heads of the second investigations department (based in Saint-Petersburg) of the Main Investigations Directorate, Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate, Leningrad Region Investigations Directorate, Northwestern Transport Investigations Directorate.

During the meeting the heads of territorial directorates made reports on the state of law order and organization of initial investigation in the offices they are in charge of. The Investigative Committee Chairman noted a number of flaws in the performance of the directorates and gave certain orders to eliminate them.

Then the meeting heard reports on the progress and results of investigation in a number of crimes that resonated in wider public. After that Mr. Bastrykin gave a number of orders concerning direction of investigations.
