Today Alexander Bastrykin has held a working meeting with State Duma deputies – members of the All-Russia People’s Front. The meeting was attended by deputies Mikhail Starshinov, Olga Timofeyeva, Alexander Remezkov, Nikolai Bulayev, Gadzhimet Safaraliyev, Mikhail Slipenchuk, Viktor Klimov and Umakhan Umakhanov and vice-chairmen of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and heads of a number of units of Committee’s Central Office.

During the meeting Mr. Bastrykin discussed with deputies issues concerning criminal proceedings and activity of the Russia’s Investigative Committee. The parties exchanged their opinions on outlooks of bills developed by the Investigative Committee. They include a bill on introduction of the institution of objective truth in a criminal procedure and on criminal liability of legal entities. They also discussed necessity to improve mechanisms of fighting nationality-motivated crimes.

In addition, Mr. Bastrykin pointed out on the need to improve mechanisms of cooperation with competent bodies of other countries in cases when individuals wanted by Russian authorities hide in their territories.
