In Kemerovo Region woman suspected of torturing boy she was guardian to

The Kemerovo Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation against a 47-year-old resident of the town of Myski suspected of a crime under paragraph “d” of part 2 of article 117 of the RF Penal Code (torture of a minor).

According to investigators, the suspect had custody of an 8-year-old boy. The woman had cared about the boy, brought him presents and taken him for weekends while he was an inmate of an orphanage. As soon as he had moved with her, her treatment changed. She made the boy to do hard house work, take care of a younger child, who was seriously ill. The boy could not stand it anymore and tried to go back to the facility. However, a police officer brought him back to the woman. She punished him for the escape. At first the woman threw a rope around the boy’s neck and threatened to strangle him. Then she tied his wrists and feet and stabbed him several times. The boy cried and asked to let him go. However, the woman decided to continue educational measures and made him to peel potatoes. When she fell asleep, the boy ran outside and asked the passers-by for help. A local woman listened to the boy and seeing that he was covered in blood took the boy to hospital. There the boy received necessary medical aid and called the police. Both children were taken away and put in facilities.

At present investigators are working on suspension of the suspect from the office. The investigators are also going to assess actions of guardianship authorities. Investigating operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
