Based on the records of checks conducted by the Federal Security Service and Main Office of Internal Security of the Russian Ministry of Interior the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against Head of Ivanovo Region Office of the Russian Ministry of Interior Alexander Nikitin. He is suspected of a crime under part 1 of article 285 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of office).

Nikitin has been detained under article 91 of the RF Criminal Procedure Code. Custodial restraint is expected soon. The investigation is ongoing.
