The Samara Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal case against director of regional office of OAO VympelKom suspected of a crime under part 3 of article 204 of the RF Penal Code (commercial bribery) based on the records of the Samara Region Office of the Federal Security Service.

According to investigators, in the afternoon of 17 December 2014, the suspect in a restaurant in Oktyabrsky district in the town of Samara received from director of a firm 1 million rubles as a commercial bribery for further cooperation in providing services connected with designing and construction of base stations for Samara office of OAO VympelKom.

The suspect has been apprehended, his residence and office have been searched. The investigation is ongoing. Investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime.
