In Irkutsk Region school headmaster removed on charges of negligence

The Irkutsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have charged headmaster of Altarik school in Nukutsky District with a crime under part 2 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence entailing death of a person).

We remind that on 30 November the law enforcement bodies received a report that three teenagers had gone missing in Nukutsky District. They did not wait a bus, but went home on their own. During the search operation two teenagers 16 and 14 years of age were found and taken to an intensive care of the burn center in the town of Irkutsk, the youngest of the boys was found dead in the woods.

During the probe investigators have checked the actions of the school staff, studied the documents to identify certain individuals who failed to ensure children’s security.

Using the documents the investigators have identified people responsible for accompanying children during transportation, but they failed to perform their duty properly. The headmaster neglected her duty and failed to control actions of the staff which led to grievous bodily harm to two teenagers and death of another one.

The accused did not admit her guilt. A court has ruled to suspend her from her office. The investigation is ongoing.
