Criminal case opened against head of Ukrainian Security Service Valentin Nalyvaichenko

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Valentin Nalyvaichenko. He is suspected of crimes under parts 2, 3, and 5 of article 128.1, part 3 of article 33, part 1 of article 356, part 3 of article 33, part 3 of article 144, part 3 of article 33, paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 126 of the RF Penal Code (libel, organization of use of prohibited means and ways of warfare, obstruction of legal professional activity of journalists, kidnapping).

According to investigators, Nalyvaichenko acting in agreement with senior officials of law enforcement, intelligence and security agencies of Ukraine used forces and means of the Security Service of Ukraine during the armed conflict in Donbass organized kidnapping of Russian citizens who did not take part in the conflict – journalists of Life News TV channel Oleg Sidyakin and Marat Saychenko. The journalists were illegally held till 25 May 2014 in Ukraine. The victims suffered physically and mentally because of beatings and abuse.

In addition, on 14 June 2014, at the roadblock on highway Donetsk – Dnepropetrovsk near the village of Pokrovskoye Nalyvaichenko organized an attack on and kidnapping of journalists of the Zvezda broadcasting company Yevgeny Davydov and Nikita Konashenkov, who also are Russian citizens and did not take part in the armed conflict. Nalyvaichenko’s subordinates illegally held the journalists during two days in the building of the Security Service of Ukraine in the town of Dnepropetrovsk, beat them and forced them to make false statements about the events in Ukraine.

Besides, during the armed conflict in southeastern Ukraine officials of the Security Service of Ukraine following orders from Nalyvaichenko tortured and beat captured civilians who did not support Kiev authority.

As we all know cruelty is a sign of weakness and cowardice. The vengeance of cowards, as a classic said is always libel. Confirming this idea Nalyvaichenko after all those things he had ordered to do to unarmed and defenseless people, makes public ridiculous and false statements accusing President of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, apparently trying to lay the blame at his doorstep.

I would like to focus once more on the fact that classification of Nalyvaichenko’s crimes is set out in all criminal codes of civilized countries and is condemned by international law. Those are kidnapping, use of prohibited means and ways of warfare, tortures, threats and libel which bare a punishment of up to 20 years in prison. So I am absolutely sure that Nalyvaichenko and alike will have to answer for those crimes sooner or later. And you don’t have to be a Solomon to understand that justice is doing everybody to rights.
