The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation in a crime under part 2 of article 105 and article 356 of the RF Penal Code (murder, use of prohibited means and methods of warfare) following shelling of a trolleybus and the Cultural Center in the town of Donetsk.

According to investigators, on 30 January 2015, a trolleybus with passengers aboard made a stop at one of the trolleybus stops at Matrosov Prospekt in Donetsk and then came under massive artillery fire. On the same day, the Cultural Center in Donetsk was shelled during the period of time when humanitarian aid was being distributed. At least 10 civilians were killed. Based on the preliminary data investigators are looking at the theory involving military men of Ukrainian Army and National Guard of Ukraine as a prioritized one. Final conclusions will be made after all circumstances and material evidence have been studied.

Soon the criminal case will be joined with the main criminal case opened in use of prohibited means and methods of warfare in Donbass.
