Rostov Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case opened in crimes under paragraphs “c” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder), paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 131 (rape). A 49-year-old resident of the town of Krasny Sulin is suspected of the crimes.

According to investigators on 28 January 2015, the suspect lured a 10-year-old girl in a watchbox located on the premises of production facilities in the town of Krasny Sulin and raped and killed her. Then he took the girl’s body outside, where it was later found.

By now the suspect has been interrogated. He fully confessed to the crimes. He was taken to the crime scene to check his statements there.

A DNA test also confirmed that he was involved in the crimes. During examination of the crime scene the investigators found and seized a murder weapon – a knife.

Following the request filed by the investigators a court has ruled to remand the man in custody. Charges will be pressed soon. The investigation is ongoing.
