Blagoveshchensk Garrison Military Investigations Department of the Russia’s Investigative Committee gas opened an investigation against deputy head of affiliate Construction Department No 701 of Far Eastern Federal District Main Special Construction Department of the Russian Federal Agency for Special Construction Andrey Golub. He is suspected of a crime under paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 204 of the RF Penal Code (commercial bribery aggravated by extortion of the object of the bribery).

According to investigators, between July 2013 and January 2014, the Construction Department and OOO Dobrostroy (contractor) concluded contracts on a complex of construction work at Vostochny cosmodrome worth over 20 million rubles. When the contracts were concluded Golub said to representative of the contractor Oleg Rodionov that he would timely sign certificates of completion and organize first-priority financing for 10% of the sum the contractor would receive under contracts.

Fearing that Golub might create some obstacles when other contracts would be concluded Rodionov made sure that 5 million rubles had been transferred to the company’s account he passed 10%, that is 500 thousand rubles to Golub.

At present investigating operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime and consolidate the evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
