In Jewish Autonomous Region two criminal investigations opened following reports in media

The Jewish Autonomous Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee following a check of an article published in mass media have launched criminal investigations in crimes under part 1 of article 201 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of authority by a person occupying managerial position) and part 2 of article 145.1 (failure to pay wages).

It has been reported earlier that one of weekly regional newspapers published an article on 28 January 2015 telling that state-owned enterprise Bashmak of the Russian Agricultural Academy had been reduced to bankruptcy by its management. The wages had not been paid and there were 20 privately-owned thoroughbred horses kept on the premises and at the expense of the enterprise.

The facts listed in the article were confirmed by a check and criminal investigations were opened. It has been revealed that the amount of unpaid wages to the employees of Bashmak during the period between 2013 and 2014 is over 1.5 million rubles.

At present investigative operations are underway. The investigations are ongoing.
