In Stavropol Territory investigation in Mineralnye Vody café and hospital mass brawl finished

The Stavropol Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against 27 accused of a mass brawl in the Yevgenia café and at the hospital in the town of Mineralnye Vody. Depending on the role and part each of them took in the crime, they are charged with crimes under part 2 of article 213 of the RF Penal Code (hooliganism) and paragraphs “g” and “i” of part 2 of article 105 (murder).

According to investigators in the evening of 20 September 2014, several men got drunk and fought in the Yevgenia café in the town of Mineralnye Vody on a petty cause. During the fight two of the accused Andranik Tsakanyan and Yevgeny Smirnov hit one of the men on his head with a bottle by turn. The injured young man Roman Savechenko and his friends Anatoly Larionov and Ruslan Abdulzhalilov went to a hospital for help. Sometime later Tsakanyan also headed for the hospital and broke into it with a group of friends with him. In the corridor they brutally beat Anatoly Larionov and injured Ruslan Abdulzhalilov and a nurse Nina Stanka.

In a very short time the investigators managed to identify all 33 defendants.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, so the criminal case against 27 accused has been forwarded for the indictment to be approved. The criminal case against the rest 6 of the accused has been severed in a separate proceeding and is under an ongoing investigation.
