In Moscow official of property relations department of Russian Defense Ministry charged with grand bribery

Moscow Military Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation against deputy director of Property Relations Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense Alexander Gorzhkolepov. He is charged with a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery on a very large scale).

According to investigators, in 2013, Gorshkolepov took a cash bribe of at least 2 million rubles for assisting in appointing some people to certain positions. In addition, he and his relatives received some services worth over 1 million rubles.

It should be noted that the crime was revealed with active assistance of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

At present Gorshkolepov has been detained. Following the request filed by the investigators a court has ruled to place him in custody pending trial. The investigation is ongoing.
