Russian Investigative Committee Chairman pays working visit to Finland

A delegation headed by Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has paid a working visit to Finland today, 8 April.

Talks between the Russian Chairman and National Commissar of the Finnish Police Mikko Paatero took place in the Finnish Police Main Department in Helsinki. During the meeting the officials discussed development of cooperation between the two agencies in fighting crimes under the Cooperation Agreement signed between the Russia’s Investigative Committee and the Ministry of the Interior of Finland in September 2011.

The talks were continued in the Central Criminal Police in the city of Vantaa where the parties discussed fighting against organized crime, terrorism and cybercrimes, organization of efficient collaboration during certain investigations.

Finnish colleagues made a presentation dedicated to the operation of the Central Criminal Police and the reform of police forces in Finland.

According to the parties, such high-level meetings where heads of agencies have an opportunity to carry out strategic planning of bilateral cooperation which in future will become the basis for the operation of their units are the best confirmation of resolute and deliberate willingness to develop efficient cooperation.
