Preliminary investigation launched in violation of rights of large family in Ryazan Region

Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered Ryazan Region Investigations Directorate to open a pre-investigative check following the information that a father of seven children does not receive public assistance published by the TV Channel 1.

In an interview Gennady Sheltov, who had lost his wife to a car crash 4 years ago, said that he had to raise 7 children. The family lives in a dilapidated house in the village of Yermish and is in urgent need of public assistance and protection. Some of the children need medical aid.

During the check investigators are going to qualify actions or omission of officials of local authorities and state control bodies. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
