In Moscow investigation continued in death of man killed by armchair

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case opened in a crime under part 1 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder).

In the evening of 10 May 2015, a dead body of a 60-year-old man with an open brain injury resulted from an object falling that fell from a height, was found in Tyoply Stan street in the city of Moscow.

On the same day, the investigators revealed that a 12-year-old teenager was involved in the crime.

According to investigators, the teenager was playing with his friends on the communal balcony on the 12th floor of the house. During the game he with no obvious purpose lifted an armchair that stood there and threw it down onto the canopy.

In accordance with the Russian Criminal Code the boy cannot be prosecuted due to his age (he was under 14 years of age).

The investigators plan to carry out all necessary investigative operations and then file the documents and a request to place the boy in a closed school with the juvenile commission so that it can take measures.

The investigators are going to qualify actions of the facility manager and officials of the Russian Emergencies Ministry who service the house as for a foreign object on a communal balcony.
