In Nizhny Novgorod head of territorial office of Federal State Property Management Agency to stand trial for property

Nizhny Novgorod investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished a criminal investigation against head of the territorial office of the Federal State Property Management Agency in Nizhny Novgorod Region charged with a crime under part 3 of article 30, part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (attempted taking a cash bribe on a very large scale via an intermediary).

Investigators have revealed that in February 2014, the accused decided to misuse his power and take a bribe of 5.5 million rubles from a representative of a company for taking decisions, signing resolutions on agreeing the division and preferential privatization of a piece of land located in the central district in Nizhny Novgorod. To make it secret the accused involved in a crime an acquaintance of his as a middleman ordering him to pass the money on to him.

On 10 April 2014, the middleman received a part of a bribe of 5 million rubles in Nizhny Novgorod District. The wrongdoings of the accused were broken up by the officers of the Nizhny Novgorod Office of the Federal Security Service.

In August 2014, a court satisfied a request of investigators and suspended the accused from his office.

In December, following another request the court ruled to place the accused in custody pending the trial.

At present the evidence gathered by the investigators has been recognized sufficient so that the criminal case with the approved indictment can be forwarded to court.
