In Irkutsk Region headmistress to stand trial for negligence

Irkutsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against headmistress of Altaric school in Nukutsky District, She is charged with a crime under part 2 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence entailing death of a person).

On 30 November 2014, three teenagers were reported missing. They waited for the bus, but then went home on foot. During the search operations two of them aged 16 and 14 were found and delivered to an intensive care of the burn center in Irkutsk. Their feet were amputated due to frostbites. The youngest of the three was found dead in the woods.

During the probe the investigators checked actions of the school staff, studied documents in order to find people who had failed to provide security of the teenagers. They have found that in accordance with the documents there were people in charge of accompanying children during transportation, but they had failed to discharge their duties properly. The headmistress had failed to control the actions of the staff due to her negligent attitude to her duties.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
