Alexander Bastrykin holds briefing in Omsk after hearing report on investigation in barracks collapse

Today the Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has examined the accident scene in the village of Svetly, Omsk Region where the barracks of a military unit collapsed claiming lives of 24 soldiers. Mr. Bastrykin commemorated the victims.

Then the Chairman held a briefing where he heard the information on the progress of the investigation in the accident and gave instructions to the investigative team on certain investigating operations.

Along with identification and prosecution of all those responsible to the tragedy, the Chairman drew special attention to the necessity of finding and analyzing the systematic reasons for the accident. This will help to prevent such accidents in future.
