CEO of Remeksstroy Alexander Dorofeyev arrested in Omsk following investigators’ request

The Main Military Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigation in collapse of military barracks in the village of Svetly, Omsk Region as a crime under part 3 of article 293, part 3 of article 216, part 3 of article 286 of the Russian Penal Code (negligence, breach of safety rules during construction work, abuse of power).

Today following the request of investigators a court has ruled to place CEO of Nizhny Novgorod OOO Remeksstroy Alexander Dorofeyev in custody pending trial. According to investigators it was his firm that renovated the barracks in 2013 which collapsed on 12 July.

Yesterday the court put under arrest another accused – head of the 242nd training center of airborne troops Col. Oleg Ponomaryov. Earlier during an interview he had partially admitted his guilt in the crime, stating that it was he who had allowed the soldiers to settle in the barracks.

At present active investigative operations are underway to find the degree of guilt of each of the accused in the crime, and all the circumstances of the crime and identify other individuals that may be responsible for the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
