The Main Military Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigation in in collapse of military barracks in the village of Svetly, Omsk Region as a crime under part 3 of article 293, part 3 of article 216, part 3 of article 286 of the Russian Penal Code (negligence, breach of safety rules during construction work, abuse of power).

Today CEO of Nizhny Novgorod firm OOO Remeksstroy Alexander Dorofeyev has been questioned as a suspect, and after that investigators made a decision to detain him in accordance with article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The investigators found that it was that firm that renovated the barracks in 2013. They are now looking at the degree of Dorofeyev’s involvement in the crime and restraint is expected soon.

I remind that yesterday Head of the 242nd training center of airborne troops Col. Oleg Ponomaryov was first questioned and then detained. He partially admitted his guilt in the crime, stating that it was he who had allowed the soldiers to settle in the barracks.

Active investigating operations are underway, a lot of military and civilians who have vital information have been questioned. A number of expert examinations have been assigned.

I repeat once more that the investigators are going to prosecute absolutely all those involved in the tragedy independent of their positions, ranks or services. I assure that no one will stay unpunished.
