Probe launched in Moscow against officials of Main office of Interior Ministry suspected of briber

The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against senior investigator and major investigator of Main Investigations Department of the Moscow Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior Viktor Rubashkin and Vladimir Andriyevsky and their middleman. Depending on the role of each one, they are suspected of crimes under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery) and parts 4 and 5 of article 291.1 (intermediacy in bribery).

According to investigators, in the period between October and November 2015 Andriyevsky and Rubashkin acted via a middleman to incline a citizen suspected of being mixed up in activity of a criminal community to give them a bribe of 2 million rubles. For the bribe the policemen promised him to stop prosecution.

At present, investigator Rubashkin and the middleman are detained. They are going to be charged and get restrain soon. Andriyevsky is wanted. The investigation is ongoing.
