On 11 December 2015, a 52-year-old local resident was delivered to emergency hospital in the town of Naverezhnye Chelny with a gunshot wound to the chest. Sometime later the man died. The Tatarstan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation in a crime under part 1 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder).

An 85-year-old resident of Tukayevsky District has been held on suspicion of the crime during well-planned investigative and search operations. It has to be noted that an improvised gun was confiscated from the suspect. The suspect confessed to the crime during an interrogation.

According to preliminary version, about 8 AM, near town policlinic No 4 the suspect shot the victim, who worked as a traumatologist and orthopedist at the said hospital.

At present, necessary investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of the crime, including the motives. The investigation is ongoing.
