Two employees of Moscow Department for Physical Culture and Sports suspected of fraud

The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation against Deputy Director – Head of Purchase Office of the Construction Directorate of the Moscow Department for Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Koryachkin and Head of Monitoring Office of the Construction Directorate of the Moscow Department for Physical Culture and Sports Alexander Sinyutin. He is suspected of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, in November 2015, Koryachkin together with Sinyutin knowing in advance about the results of a construction auction, which was won by a company with which a contract worth over 28 million rubes was concluded, decided to use the situation to their advantage. They told representatives of the company that they had assisted their victory in the auction and demanded for that 1.5 million rubles. The men were held by the police at the moment when they were getting the money.

Today the investigators are requesting a court to remand Koryachkin and Sinyutin in custody pending trial. The investigation is ongoing.
