Investigative Committee and MGIMO sign cooperation agreement

On 27 May 2016, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin and Chancellor of the Foreign Ministry’s State Institute (University) of International Relations of Moscow Anatoly Torkunov signed a cooperation agreement. According to the document the students of the University will be able to go for internship in the divisions of the Investigative Committee and be possibly employed there.

During his visit to the MGIMO University Mr. Bastrykin delivered a lecture on economic crimes. He elaborated on fighting corruption and taking capital offshore pointing out that “economy is the basis of any society and it is important how the law protects those basic relations.”

The final part of the event was a discussion during which the students asked about possibility of being employed by the Investigative Committee, ways of fighting corruption and talked about ways to improve the criminal law.
