In Bashkortostan, probe launched in abuse of office by officials of district administration

The Bashkortostan Office of the Investigative Committee has started a criminal investigation into abuse of office by some officials of Ishimbay District administration (Part 1 of Article 286 of the RF Penal Code) following the files received from an inspectorate.

According to investigators, in March 2014, the district administration concluded an over 4 million rubles contract with OOO Promstroy on construction of gas distribution networks in three streets of the settlement of Isheyevo inhabited by 110 people. Most of the sum was allocated by the federal and republican budgets. There is still no gas in the houses and the damage caused was more than 1 million rubles.

At present, investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the details of the crime and identify the officials involved in it. A financial and economic inquiry has been assigned to determine the exact amount of the damage and kinds of the budgets affected. The investigation continues.
