The Amur Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation against a 31-year-old local resident suspected of a crime under Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of a child).

According to investigators, on 12 June 2016, the suspect was drunk at home in the town of Belogorsk. After he had a row with his wife and she had left with her older daughter, the man used a hacksaw to kill their younger 3-year-old daughter.

The suspect has been detained and has been placed in custody pending trial. The investigators are working to find out all the details of the crime. The investigation continues.
