In Altai Territory, investigation finished against former head of veterinarian office charged with bribery

The Altai Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has finished proceedings against former head of the Altai Territory veterinarian office Anatoly Vysochin. He is charged with crimes under Part 5, item “c” of Article 290 of the RF Penal Code (taking a bribe by an official on large scale) and Part 2 of Article 290 (taking a cash bribe on a large scale).

According to investigators, the accused received from the security director of a company in Altai Territory a cash bribe of 345 thousand rubles for assisting in speeding up the process of making accompanying veterinarian papers for the goods transported by the company.

The investigator of the Investigative Committee and police operatives revealed and proved 10 more instances of illegal activity of the official. It was revealed that between 2014 and 2016, Vysochin regularly took cash bribes (between 45 and 120 thousand rubles) from subordinate heads of territorial veterinarian offices, whom he involved in his corruption scheme for general protection and connivance. The total sum of bribes taken by the accused from his subordinates is more than 800,000 rubles.

A court has ruled to place Vysochin under house arrest.

The court also arrested 8 million rubles worth of property owned by the accused in order to guarantee the sentence.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case has been sent for the indictment to be approved and will then be referred to court.
