Wanted Vladimir Belov held in Khovanskoye cemetery mass riots probe

The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee continues criminal proceedings against active participant of 2016 mass riots at Khovanskoye cemetery Vladimir Belov. He is charged with participation in mass riots under Part 2 of Article 212 of the RF Criminal Code.

Three people were killed and more than 30 injured on 14 May 2016 during mass riots and a shootout at the central gate of Khovanskoye cemetery in Moscow. After the crime Belov escaped from investigators and was put on an international wanted list.

He was transported in Moscow on 25 May 2017 and is now kept in a pre-trial detention center. Investigators are working to finish criminal proceedings against him.

The investigation against 16 other accused was finished in April and at the moment they with their lawyers are reading the case files.

The investigators are looking for 4 more perpetrators: Georgy Makaryev, Adam Batayev, Shakhmokhmad Shapturkayev and Faizali Makhmadiyerov. All of them were charged in absentia.
