In Tatarstan, local woman charged with assaulting ambulance doctor

The Tatarstan Office of the Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against Yevgenia Ryabova charged with attempted murder due to job under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, item “b” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on the evening of 25 March 2017, an ER in the town of Naberezhnye Chelny got a report from the police that a 5-month-old girl was feeling unwell in a flat in the settlement of Hydropower Station. Nobody knew where the girl’s mother was at the moment.

An ambulance crew arrived to help the girl. The girl’s drunk father was at home together with Ryabova, who had come to have a drink. When the accused saw the doctors, she grabbed a knife in the kitchen and while a 53-year-old doctor was examining the girl, she stabbed the doctor 2 times in her back. The doctor fought back and ran from the flat.

Ryabova denied all the charges. A court ruled to place her in custody pending trial.

At the moment the child is in a specialized institution. The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to court.
