Each year wildfires do a lot of damage in different regions of Russia. Many houses have burned down recently in Krasnoyarsk Territory causing fatalities. The Krasnoyarsk Territory Office of the Investigative Committee is running several probes in negligence under Article 293 of the RF Penal Code and a number of checks.

Considering the massive damage done the Chairman of the Investigative Committee has ordered that experienced investigators of the Central Office should take over the investigations. Mr. Bastrykin instructed them to assess the actual damage done and study thoroughly all the reasons and conditions that left hundreds of people homeless. They are also to see of the measures taken to both before and after the fires were sufficient. The investigators are going to do their utmost to hold the responsible accountable.
