Alexander Bastrykin orders check in violation of rights of residents in settlement in Istra District, Moscow Region

A federal TV channel showed a coverage on 31 May saying that residents of Zelyony Shum (Green Noise) cottage settlement located in Istra District, Moscow Region were blocked from moving in and out the settlement because of plans made by businessmen to build another settlement nearby. According to the development plan, the only road the residents of the settlement have runs across the lands of the future settlement, which were dug out, so the road is blocked now. According to local residents, they are blocked from the outside world by an illegally set up bar. The district administration issued an order that the bar should be removed, but the police did not execute the order and the bar is still there.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered the Moscow Region Directorate of the Investigative Committee to run a check and find out all the circumstances of the incident and make an impartial decision on the legality of actions of all involved parties: the developer, the administration and the police.
