In Maritime Territory, sentence passed over two security guards guilty of obstruction of legal professional activity of journalist

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Maritime Territory Office of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict two security guards of OAO Vladivostok Crushed Stone Plant Oleg Fetsych and Anton Tayursky. They were found guilty of obstruction of legal professional activity of journalists by forcing them to refuse to spread the information aggravated by physical violence under Part 3 of Article 144 of the RF Criminal Code.

The court and investigators have revealed that on the afternoon of 7 June 2016, the accused got physical with a journalist of Chestny Detektiv TV show (Honest Investigator, Rossiya 1 channel) and threatened to kill him near the central entrance to the administration building of the Maritime Territory Office of the Federal Security Service in Aleutskaya Street in the city of Vladivostok. The reason for the incident was a task to make a story for the TV show about an ongoing investigation against mayor of Vladivostok Igor Pushkaryov charged with corruption.

Fitsych and Tayursky have received suspended sentences of 1.5 years and 1 year 7 months respectively.
