Alexander Bastrykin: Investigative Committee’s Central Office takes checks in deaths of people in storm in Moscow and region under control

Several people were killed and many more injured by a storm that hit the city of Moscow and its environs on 29 May 2017. As of now the death toll stands at 11 people in Moscow, while one girl was killed in Moscow Region. The exact number of victims and the amount of damage done are being confirmed.

According to preliminary information, 11 people in Moscow and the 11-year-old girl in Ramenskoye District, Moscow Region were killed by falling trees and debris from buildings.

The Moscow and Moscow Region Directorates of the Investigative Committee are now running checks in the incidents. Investigators are examining the scenes and questioning witnesses.

Alexander Bastrykin has ordered heads of investigative authorities to look into all the circumstances of the incident and the staff of the Central Office to control the progress and results of the checks.
