Transbaikalian and Stavropol Territories investigators check housing unfit for living provided to citizens or failure to pay compensations for natural disasters

A resident of Olovyannaya District, Transbaikalian Territory has addressed President Putin via a live broadcast of the Direct Line with the President. The woman told the President that her house had burned down in 2015, and to replace it, she had been provided with housing unfit for living. The Transbaikalian Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has launched a check in the complaint.

Investigators are going to question the woman, examine her house, request and analyze necessary documents. They are going to give tough legal assessment to officials responsible. A procedural decision will be made following the check.

In addition, acting head of the Stavropol Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has ordered a check following a complaint by a woman from the settlement of Krasnokumskoye, Georgiyevsk District received during live broadcast of the Direct Line with the President.

The woman and her family were affected by flooding in May. According to her, local administration force her to get certificates at her own expense to confirm that her house needs repair. As a result, she is still unable to get compensation she is entitled to as a victim of a natural disaster.

Investigators are going to see if the actions of officials of the Georgiyevsk District administration can be qualified as abuse of authority under Article 286 of the RF Criminal Code. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
