Mass media reported on 4 July 2017 on beating of a female paramedic. The same day, the Pskov Region Office of the Investigative Committee ran a check in the reports and then opened an investigation in battery under Article 116 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, on the evening of 2 July 2017, an ambulance crew arrived to attend a call at a joint in the town of Velikiye Lyki, and found there a drunk 27-year-old man with injuries. The paramedics decided to take the man to hospital. On their way, the man deliberately kicked the senior paramedic in thigh. When the ambulance stopped, he ran after the woman and kicked her for the second time in chest. The paramedic suffered bruises.

By now the suspect has been detained. Investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime. The investigation continues.
