The Tomsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated an investigation in unsafe services under Part 1 of Article 238 of the RF Criminal Code after a small boy went into a coma after he had received medical care at Kargasok District Hospital.

The Tomsk Region office of the Investigative Committee got a complaint from a woman from the settlement of Kargasok that the 5-year-old boy had gone into a coma after he had had a dental surgery under general anesthesia. The child was transported to children’s hospital No 1 in the town of Tomsk and now is in the intensive care unit.

Steps are underway now to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident. Necessary medical documents have been seized from Kargasok District Hospital, its staff are being questioned, an investigator has set out to question the boy’s parents and the staff of children’s hospital No 1 in Tomsk. Investigators have also seized documents related to the investigation. The inquest continues.
