Probe launched in yet another shelling of social infrastructure in Dokuchayevsk

The Head Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in the use of prohibited ways and methods of warfare under Part 1 of Article 356 of the RF Criminal Code.

In spite of a ceasefire agreement signed by the Contact Group, some districts of Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics keep seeing escalation of the conflict caused by a sharp rise in shelling by Ukrainian Armed Forces and National Guard of residential blocks. The actions of the Ukraine’s army kill and wound people, damage houses and social infrastructure.

Dokuchayevsk was shelled several times on 21 November 2017. According to investigators military servants of the Ukraine’s Armed Forces and National Guard violated the Minsk Protocol on ceasefire and its Memorandum, as well as the Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War when following criminal orders of higher commanders from the Ministry of Defense they fired heavy artillery weapons at civilian infrastructure in Dokuchayevsk. A local woman was severely wounded during the bombardment.

At present, investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime and to identify those involved in it.
