Chairman of Investigative Committee hosts meeting in Stavropol

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has hosted a meeting in the city of Stavropol attended by his deputy Boris Karnaukhov, heads of investigative Committee’s North Caucasian Federal District Directorate and offices. Alexander Bastrykin voiced results and statistical data on investigative work noting some positive tendencies towards decrease of the total number of registered crimes both in the country and North Caucasian Federal District.

The Chairman mentioned positive dynamics of higher quality and shorter time of investigation, and paid special attention to active work done to investigative unsolved crimes, including those committed years ago, using forensic and expert institutions. He also pointed out that cooperation between investigators and officials involved in search operations should follow specific joint action plans so that all efforts were focused on achieving one result – solving a crime.

Mr. Bastrykin heard reports of heads of a number of investigative authorities on performance over 10 months of 2017, implementation of orders under special control of the Chairman and results of high-profile cases investigated by Investigative Committee’s offices for Stavropol Territory, Dagestan, Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria and the Chechen Republic. Mr. Bastrykin gave orders directing further investigations of the cases.

To conclude the meeting, the Chairman gave explicit instructions how to improve performance of the Investigative Committee’s divisions in North Caucasian Federal District.
