In Kamchatka, a probe launched into MI-8 helicopter crash

The Eastern Interregional Transport Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe into MI-8 helicopter crush under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of rules for safe operation of air transport entailing by negligence death of two or more persons).

According to preliminary information, on August 12, 2021 at about 10 AM local time, the MI-8 helicopter carrying out commercial air transportation on the route from the airport of the village. Nikolaevka, Yelizovsky District, Kamchatka Territory - Kurilskoye Lake, Kamchatka Territory crashed. A helicopter fell into the waters of Lake Kurilskoe in Kamchatka Territory. 

The investigation team left for the scene, the number of victims aboard the aircraft is being specified, a complex of investigative and procedural actions aimed at establishing the circumstances of the accident are being carried out.
