Investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia continue to investigate probes into fatal poisonings of residents of the Orenburg region.
At the time of publication, the circumstances surrounding the deaths of 29 people from 4 areas of the Orenburg region are being investigated, and a number of citizens had received or were in the process of receiving medical treatment.
Investigative and search activities during the investigation resulted in establishing the involvement of new perpetrators in the crimes. To date, investigators, in cooperation with operational police officers, have identified and detained nine individuals, four of whom are subjected to preventive detention.
The production of investigative, procedural and operational-search measures continues and is aimed at identifying all persons involved in the commission of the crimes under investigation. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
Investigators, in cooperation with operative police officers, discovered 11 metal barrels of 200 litres containing alcoholic liquids on the premises of a trading and purchasing base on Vokzalnoye Shosse Street in Orsk, where the main storage depot had been previously identified.
As reported earlier, the Chairman of Investigation Committee of Russia instructed to transfer the probes initiated after poisoning of people with alcoholic beverages in Orenburg Region to Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to conduct full and comprehensive investigation of crimes under Part 3 of Article 238 of Russian Criminal Code, Paragraph A of Part 6 of Article 171.1, Part 1 of Article 171.3 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
