The Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia on the basis of the results of the inspection initiated criminal proceedings for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, which resulted in the death of a man and his wife and two children were hospitalized (Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code).
According to investigators, on November 16, 2021 in a private house located in one of the cottage villages of the Domodedovo urban district a body of a man with no signs of life, as well as his unconscious wife and two children aged 5 years were found. It was established that the day before the family returned from vacation in the Arab Republic of Egypt, where one of the children showed signs of sickness in the form of vomiting, and later they also appeared in the other members of the family.
According to the preliminary results of the expert, the man's death was the result of carbon monoxide poisoning. Investigators and forensic specialists with an expert in the field of gas and chimney equipment conducted an additional inspection of the scene, during which the boiler was seized and a construction and technical examination was appointed, as well as examination of the chimney. Chemical research is being conducted on previously seized food and beverages.
A forensic medical examination to determine the causes of poisoning of the rest of the family is also being conducted. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
