Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs Officers to Investigate the Facts of Ill-Treatment of the Civilian Population by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Chairman of the IC of Russia has instructed officers to investigate new reports on the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian servicemen have repeatedly committed crimes against civilians. In the city of Kharkov, the local population remaining in the city was intimidated by militants of nationalist units, who used to open fire to kill civilians who had left their shelters in search of food. In Avdeevka, militants of nationalist units prepared an inhuman provocation with mass poisoning of the adjacent areas’ residents with toxic chemicals. To do this, the neo-Nazis have mined storages with toxic chemicals at the coking plant, which they plan to blow up as soon as the units of the Donetsk People’s Republic approach the city. Also, the Ukrainian armed forces set up firing positions in residential buildings, schools and kindergartens in the city of Kramatorsk, while civilians were forced to build these fortifications under threat of execution.

These facts will receive a legal assessment as part of criminal cases on the ill-treatment of the civilian population and the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare. The investigation will take measures to record the testimony of witnesses of these events and recognize them as victims.
