Within the criminal case investigation, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed the investigators of the Central Office to establish the data of Ukrainian nationalists involved in abuse of Russian servicemen.

The description of a photo published by one of the journalists stated that Ukrainian nationalists burned a Russian serviceman. It was noted that before he died, he was tortured and cruelly abused.

These actions grossly violate the international legislation norms related to treatment of prisoners of war. The investigators will take all the measures required to clarify all circumstances of the incident and to identify Ukrainian nationalists involved in the crime, as well as their commanders.
