The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs to organize a briefing session related to the response of the investigative authorities to improper provision of medicines to seriously ill citizens, including children

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Main Investigative Directorate to organize a briefing session with the territorial investigative authorities dedicated to the problems of establishing and investigating the cases of criminal negligence of officials and their other illegal actions related to providing seriously ill citizens, including children with medication.

After a personal meeting with the parents of disabled children, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues to receive complaints from the citizens of various regions about improper supply of medicines supply to their children. In this regard, the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee is assessing the current situation, identifying the most problematic regions. Heads of Investigative Bodies in the regions with the highest number of complaints about non-provision of medicines, and the regions with bureaucratic dysfunction and other violations related to the improper provision of medicines to the patients entitled to them, will be heard at the meeting. They will be submitting a proposal to solve the problem and in the future will be personally responsible for the results of its implementation.

Considering the social significance of the issue, in the future, the effective response of the investigating authorities to violations in the provision of medication to seriously ill citizens, including children will be one of the indicators for assessing the quality of their work. If the results are negative, this indicator will reflect on the job security and penalties of the staff involved.
