Investigators of the Central Investigation office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation together with the operational staff of the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Russian Ministry of Interior solved a crime committed 24 January 2011 at the airport "Domodedovo".

The suicide bomber who exploded a bomb, filled with striking elements was identified. It was 20-year-old native of one of the North Caucasus republics. Despite the fact that the investigation knows the name of the terrorist, today we are not going to say it because of certain circumstances, as at the moment the investigative and search actions aimed at the identification and detention of organizers and accomplices of the terrorist act are being undertaken. We emphasize that it is no coincidence that the attack was carried out  in the international arrivals hall of the airport. According to investigators, the attack was directed mainly against foreign citizens. Today, we are also ready to disclose the findings of the investigation of another crime of terrorist character.

According to the results of investigative and operational activities, all the people involved in the explosion on December 31, 2010, in a hotel room OOO “Sports Shooting Club of Military Hunting society”, located on the street Golovacheva in Moscow have been identified. Some of the suspects were detained, at the request of the investigation the arrest of 4 more people is being discussed, several people are wanted by the operative services. According to investigators, this terrorist group was preparing terrorist attack in the center of Moscow on December 31, 2010.

We note in particular that the investigation revealed that the terrorist attack at the airport  “Domodedovo” and explosion in the hotel had been committed by organized armed groups not related to each other and operating in the various North Caucasus republics.
