The victims have read the files of the case charging Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov with Anna Politkovskaya murder

Today the victims and their representatives have completed reading the files of the criminal case over murder of Novaya Gazeta journalist Anna Politkovskaya and charging Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov with crimes under paragraphs “b”, “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 and part 3 of article 222 of the RF Criminal Code (murder of a person in connection with the official activity by this person committed by a group of persons on hire, illegal handling of firearms).

As it was earlier reported, the criminal case against Pavlyuchenkov, who had concluded a pre-trial cooperation deal with investigators, was severed into a separate lawsuit. Tomorrow, 9 October 2012, Pavlyuchenkov and his lawyers will start reading the files, after which they will be submitted to a prosecutor to approve the indictment and subsequent sending to the court to be tried on the merits.

In addition, during the investigation Pavlyuchenkov also gave valuable for the investigation testimonies on another especially serious crime which evoked international public response. This information is now being confirmed by testimonies of other witnesses. Investigation of this criminal case is to be continued.
